Solid Edge
Solid Edge is the Siemens parametric 3D mechanical CAD platform — often paired with electrical CAD (EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical) for full-line documentation of battery production equipment, fixtures, and pack mechanical assemblies. As a hard skill it requires modeling parts and assemblies, generating manufacturing drawings to ASME Y14.5 or ISO GPS, performing interference and tolerance studies, and managing revisions through Teamcenter or a similar PDM. Mechanical designers apply it when authoring a fixture for cell-tab welding, when revising a pack enclosure to accept a new BMS PCB, and when generating shop drawings that go out to a sheet-metal supplier.
