Mine safety is the systematic management of physical, chemical, and human-factor hazards in one of the most demanding industrial environments, governed in the U.S. by MSHA. The discipline covers ground control, ventilation, blasting, traffic management, fall protection, lockout/tagout, and emergency response, all reinforced through risk assessments and incident learning. A strong safety culture is non-negotiable: it is both a moral obligation and a precondition for license to operate.
