Operations Management

Operations management is the discipline of designing and running the processes that produce goods and services — capacity planning, scheduling, inventory, quality, and continuous improvement. Practitioners apply Lean, Six Sigma, theory of constraints, and S&OP to align demand, supply, and resources against cost and service targets. It is the integrating discipline that ties together what specialists do at the workstation, plant, and enterprise levels.
