Labview & Teststand
LabVIEW and TestStand are the National Instruments platforms for automated test sequencing and instrument control — used by battery teams to run formation cycles, characterize cells on a benchtop cycler, and validate BMS hardware-in-the-loop. As a hard skill it requires fluency in dataflow ("G code") programming, VI architecture, instrument-driver libraries (IVI), and the TestStand sequence-execution model that orchestrates multi-step test plans with conditional branches and reporting. Test engineers apply this when standing up a new pack-test bench, when writing the validation suite for a new BMS revision, and when integrating dozens of instruments (DMMs, electronic loads, oscilloscopes) into a coherent automated test sequence.
