Design (& Analysis) of Experiments (DoE)
Design of experiments (DOE) is the statistical methodology for planning experiments that extract the most information from the fewest runs, using factorial, fractional factorial, response surface, and mixture designs. Practitioners use it to screen factors, optimize processes, and quantify interactions and noise contributions in R&D and manufacturing settings. Strong DOE practice replaces one-factor-at-a-time intuition with rigorous, model-based learning and is core to Six Sigma and modern materials informatics.
