Chemical Engineering
Chemical engineering applies physics, chemistry, and process design to convert raw materials into fuels, chemicals, polymers, and specialty products at industrial scale. Practitioners size reactors, separation trains, and heat-transfer equipment; develop process flowsheets; and optimize plants against yield, energy, safety, and emissions constraints. It is the foundational technical discipline for refineries and chemical plants and is increasingly intertwined with process safety, sustainability, and digitalization.
