Bacanora Lithium
Bacanora Lithium, originally incorporated in Canada in 2008 as Bacanora Minerals, is an exploration and development company focused on the Sonora Lithium Project in Mexico, one of the world's largest clay-hosted lithium deposits. Following the discovery of lithium in Sonora in 2010-2012, the company pivoted to focus on battery-grade lithium production. A key development was the strategic partnership with Ganfeng Lithium, which became a major shareholder and increased its stake in the Sonora project to 50% by 2021. The project aims to produce 35,000 tonnes per annum of lithium carbonate.
