Penn State New Kensington
Penn State New Kensington is a branch campus of The Pennsylvania State University located in New Kensington, Westmoreland County, in the Pittsburgh metro region of western Pennsylvania. The campus serves the Greater Pittsburgh area's long-standing advanced manufacturing and technology workforce, offering career-ready degree programs within a small-campus setting backed by the full Penn State academic system. Its signature program is the B.S. in Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology (EMET), an ABET-accredited four-year degree that prepares graduates for industrial automation, robotics, and complex manufacturing systems — skills in high demand among Pittsburgh-area manufacturers and energy companies. Information Technology and Information Sciences and Technology degrees extend the campus's technology offerings into enterprise IT, cybersecurity, and digital systems. Penn State New Kensington's location in the heart of Pennsylvania's manufacturing corridor gives students direct access to industry partnerships with regional automation, energy, and materials companies. Note that Penn State New Kensington is not enrolling new students after spring 2027.
