Battery Council International (BCI) is the leading trade association for the North American battery industry, focused on education and the advancement of energy storage for a low-carbon future. BCI promotes the responsible manufacture, use, and recycling of batteries, representing the industry on environmental and policy issues. The organization drives sustainability through building a successful circular economy, especially with lead batteries, achieving a 99% recycling rate in the U.S. BCI created model legislation for battery recycling and leads both national and international initiatives to improve environmental performance.
