Australian Electric Vehicle Association (AEVA)
Australian Electric Vehicle Association (AEVA) is a volunteer-run, not-for-profit organization dedicated to switching Australia's transport networks to electric drive as quickly as possible. Formed in late 1973 in response to global oil price shocks, it stands as the longest continuously running electric vehicle society in the world. The association represents the interests of all EV consumers, users, builders, and enthusiasts across the country through city- and state-based branches. To accelerate electromobility, the AEVA regularly submits policy recommendations to government bodies and industry leaders. Additionally, the group educates the public by hosting community events, publishing educational resources, and offering practical advice on vehicle selection and EV charging etiquette.
