Professional Engineer (PE)
A Professional Engineer (PE) is an engineer licensed by a given state's board of registration to practice engineering. Each state has a Board of Examiners for licensing qualified PE applicants. The PE license is the engineering profession’s highest standard of competence, a symbol of achievement and assurance of quality. Passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam is the first step toward that goal.
