Engineer in Training (EIT)
The EIT certification is a certification that each state mandates as a step that aspiring engineers must take before becoming licensed professional engineers. The main eligibility condition for applying to become an engineer in training is being a college senior or having graduated a four-year engineering program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology. Applicants earn their EIT certification after passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, which is a multiple-choice exam that covers the engineering program coursework.
