West Chester University of Pennsylvania
West Chester University of Pennsylvania is a public university within the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education (PASSHE), located in West Chester, about 25 miles west of Philadelphia. As one of the largest PASSHE institutions, WCU houses its STEM programs within the College of Sciences and Mathematics, which includes departments in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Physics and Engineering, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Earth and Space Sciences. The Computer Science department is designated a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education by the NSA, and the university offers a 176,000-square-foot Sciences and Engineering Center with advanced research labs and simulation spaces. WCU offers a distinctive dual-degree partnership where physics students can earn both a B.S. in Physics from WCU and a B.S. in Engineering from partner institutions such as Penn State, Columbia, and Case Western Reserve. Graduate STEM offerings include master's degrees in Computer Science, Applied Statistics, Mathematics, and Geoscience.
