University of Wyoming
The University of Wyoming, located in Laramie, is the state's only public four-year university and a Carnegie R1 research institution. Its College of Engineering and Physical Sciences offers bachelor's, master's, and doctoral programs in chemical, civil, electrical, mechanical, petroleum, and computer engineering. The university also houses strong programs in geology, geophysics, mathematics, statistics, chemistry, physics, and computer science. The Haub School of Environment and Natural Resources supports environmental systems science, while the Wyoming Geographic Information Science Center (WyGISC) advances geospatial research and GIS education. UW's energy focus, including petroleum and energy systems engineering, reflects Wyoming's economic strengths in natural resources.
