Penn State Greater Allegheny
Penn State Greater Allegheny is a branch campus of The Pennsylvania State University located in McKeesport, Allegheny County, approximately 15 miles southeast of Pittsburgh. As one of Penn State's smaller Commonwealth campuses, it offers students in the greater Pittsburgh region access to Penn State degree programs in an intimate, personalized learning environment with small class sizes and close faculty mentorship. The campus's STEM and technology offerings include pathways in Information Technology, Cybersecurity Analytics and Operations, and related technical fields, with many students completing their first two years at Greater Allegheny before transferring to University Park or another Penn State campus to complete their degree. Penn State Greater Allegheny's Digital Fluency Project equips all students with iPads and provides access to a Maker Space featuring 3D printers and robotics equipment, fostering practical technology skills alongside coursework. The campus's location in the post-industrial Pittsburgh region connects students to one of the most rapidly evolving technology and advanced manufacturing ecosystems in the United States.
