Marion Military Institute
Marion Military Institute is a two-year military junior college in Marion, Alabama, combining rigorous military training with academic coursework, awarding Associate in Arts and Associate in Science degrees as transfer pathways to four-year universities. The Associate in Science degree is explicitly designed for students pursuing bachelor's degrees in natural sciences, computer sciences, architecture, engineering, mathematics, nursing, pharmacy, forestry, and pre-medicine, with STEM-relevant coursework in biology, chemistry, physics, calculus, and computer information systems. The Associate in Arts provides a complementary transfer pathway with a broader liberal arts curriculum including business coursework in accounting, management, marketing, and economics. MMI does not award AAS degrees, named majors, or certificates — all students graduate with either the A.A. or A.S. and use their elective coursework to align with their intended transfer major. The institute's military structure, honor code, and leadership development make it an attractive option for students seeking officer commissioning pathways alongside academic preparation.
